The Project Management Office (PMO)  at Care is an important part of the efficient and effective translation of corporate key initiatives into plans and execution. The PMO sits between the executive team and the functional teams that design, build, market and support the product ensuring processes are effective and teams are executing on well defined plans to assure project success..

The Project Director will help to design and implement project processes to enable teams across the organization to operate efficiently to execute on key initiatives. This position will also manage highly cross-functional programs/projects as well as stand-alone projects in different areas of the organization. The Project Director will also supervise a team of Project Managers within the PMO.

 Responsibilities Include:

  • Partnering with additional PMO leaders to establish and maintain PMO methodologies, standards and tools
  • Overseeing a team of project managers, including overall oversight of programs/projects within their portfolio
  • Providing project leadership throughout the project lifecycle across cross-functional teams and provides on-going, thorough communication with stakeholders
  • Applying appropriate methodology and tools to manage all aspects of project activities throughout project lifecycle including project scope, schedule, quality/testing, communication, and risk to successful project outcomes
  • Ensuring completion of all necessary project documentation including: scope/objectives, current/future state work-flows, requirements, work breakdown structures, testing plans, and Jira tickets 
  • Maintaining all project documentation in centralized location defined by the PMO
  • Serving as the main contact for program/project status for all project partners and stakeholders throughout all phases of the project lifecycle including executive leadership
  • Maintaining accurate description and status of projects by maintaining project plans and other necessary project documentation
  • Performing lessons learned sessions/retrospectives with project participants to assist in process improvements and complete project archives

 Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years prior experience managing software delivery/product initiatives
  • Must have experience moving projects through design, development, and QA
  • Experience working with and developing working relationships with cross-functional teams across the development lifecycle
  • Able to self-manage progress against milestones and deliverables with accountability
  • Flexible, adaptable and resourceful when managing changing timelines and multiple deliverables.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to establish and manage a high‐performance team.  
  • Strong tactful communication skills – written and oral
  • PMP is a plus

Salary Range:  140,000 to 170,000.

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
